I'd go for the 450!
Which reminds me why I want to start working on a beowulf-on-a-backplane design: I want to be the one to write the program called "clusterfsck."

It might...That is a weird problem if it doesn't seem to be the level of details, but how much it has to render, no matter how crappy it looks.
Hopefully i'll have it sorted out before doom 3 :)

I've found the UT 2003 arenas "Plunge" and "Phobos 2" to be the choppiest, and i mean choppy, looking like its running about 25 FPS. BTW foolhardy, how many FPS do you average on the "Trools Lair" part of the 3Dmark 03 benchmark progress???

Hmm... Do you think i should try unplugging my case fans, cd-roms, and floppy drive to see if it helps out before i rush to buy a new powersupply?

You need your case fans for cooling...I wouldn't unhook them.
Your CDROM and Floppy aren't tapping much juice, since they aren't being used...

At least thats what I'd think...you can give it a try tho.

BTW, even my system dips to as low as 5 fps on some of the 3DMark03 tests. Thats some ridiculous texture rendering in there...no card alive today can really run that "smoothly" at 50+ fps...at least nothing on the consumer market.

Yeah, and the CPU tests seem to bring my computer to a halt- there was a spot where my new system was getting 0 fps.

I was talking about the 3 extra 80 MM case fans that i have.... I tryed the 3d mark test with out them and scored a 3200 with verticle sync on????? And yes you are right, i had my system down to 1 FPS on one of the CPU tests 8) i'll try the test again with V sync on also, since if its not on during a game the tearing is so bad that i don't even wanna play it.
