How to find the audio controller in a motherboard without seeing the audio chip? I tried to install the audio driver given in the motherboard CD. But it is not installed. Is there any device manager to find out the controller chips in the motherboard?

try to download it from the motherboards website,
but there can be other reasons why installation
failed...check the bios if the audiochip is activated

How important is a new motherboard in a computer? I want to put some new parts in my computer. My computer is pretty new, but I want to add a few things. If I want to put a new processor in my computer, is it necessary to put a new motherboard in it? I have an AMD 64 X2 3800+ 2.0 Ghz processor in it now.
