Physically Cleaning PCs and Laptops

Postby Lee » Mon Sep 07, 2009 12:02 am

It's about time to detail our computers again. They are getting dusty and nasty looking. We've got some family members who insist on touching the screens of our laptops to point out things. (We're gonna have to get fly swatters to protect our PCs I guess.) So, does anybody have any tips for cleaning up PCs and Laptops? I'm particularly concerned about getting the right wipe to clean off the laptop screens without damaging anything.

Well, I got this blue cloth chamois like thing with my Samsung LCD TV that works really well on the LCD monitors too. All you do is dampen it with just a wee bit of water then use it like you would use a paper towel when cleaning a mirror or window - just gently. So you might look for one of those - although I'm not sure where you would get one.
Which reminds me why I want to start working on a beowulf-on-a-backplane design: I want to be the one to write the program called "clusterfsck."
