Apparently you can get a mod chip that's solderless (sp?) for around $50, and another hard drive that holds 20 gig + for the xbox- rip games onto the hard drive and play them directly from it at quicker speed... With console prices dropping, for budget gamers- this seems like a decent option....

Hmmmm. Interesting info. I don't have or use an xbox but I know several people who do. I think they will find this info invaluable.

Thanks Tilo!! :D
Which reminds me why I want to start working on a beowulf-on-a-backplane design: I want to be the one to write the program called "clusterfsck."

Mine too, since most of my "investments" from the dreamcast were tilo originals.

yes I have heard the same thing about solderless mod chips...
The problem is that MS is hammering down on MOD sites and other organizations, so its hard to get the product

you see HJ, their jurisdiction really is only effective in the states and the more policier parts of the EU. In the rest of the world, it's literally like an open bazaar 8)

the border is easy to overcome. You just need to use a little common sense and intelligence. A couple of years ago I met a guy who - get this - smuggled elephant tusks in w/o a hitch. And I'm not talking baby teeth, I mean huge pairs of these things. I was a little upset cos I happen to be an animal lover, but I was still surprised at how easy it was for him.
