Postby John McClean » Thu Mar 11, 2004 11:36 pm

what the heck could make a game randomly minimize consistantly? i've had it happen on 3 different games (BF1942, Call of duty, GTA:VC) i'm 99% possitive its not adware or a virus, i have norton2003 antivirus along with norton internet security 2003, ad aware 6 and spybot. any thoughts or ideas?

probably a virus, or possibly a driver problem

ive got some wierd virus running rampant through my home network, invisible to updated nortons 2k3 and 2k4, and updated avg, and an online scan, all it does that i can tell is disable network connections randomly, which is a pain, but i cant format until summer at the earliest, and id probably just end up putting it back on my computer if i backed stuff up :(

You should check to see if messenger (not MSN messenger) is turned off. That has been known to cause that.

I've had problems of programs trying to dial home in the middle of a game. At first I thought it was just crashing. Some background program kept trying to connect to the internet even though I was offline.

I showed them. I reformatted my hard drive. Punks.

Yeah, but the system was getting buggy anyways. It was about time for a fix.

It actually could be your antivirus kicking into by schedule. Check your task manager for running processes.
