lol... You can't compare 3DMARK 03 from the link that foolhardy pasted to anyother 3d mark scores. this is with D3D. It only seems to go slow in D3D... seeming that im running Counter-Strike at 1600x1200 resolution wtih 6x AA and 8x AF with verticle sync and getting a flat 60 FPS out of it.

I have windows XP pro/ SP1 with Catalyst 3.1 (6.14.1.6292)
Umm...
I think this is my SIS648 chipset driver ---7.1.12.3

I'm not sure what all you need to know.. but will try to find some comparisons on the 3dmark website.

Yeah - I agree with AviD - you should be able to AT LEAST pull 80 - 100 fps out of that rig NO PROBLEM.

I also agree that the software is probably the culprit. Maybe you should post your scores so the dudes can have a look. Once busy, Avid, Foo, etc. sees your scores they can probably give you an idea on what you will need to tweak.

Good luck dude! 8)

What version of DirectX are you running?

Also are you customizing your D3D settings via Display Properties >> Settings >> Advanced? I'd recommend defaulting them until you can narrow the problem down.

You can run it in OpenGL I believe as well...

There is a HUGE difference between the 9700 Series and 9500 Series in terms of performance....but you should still be getting more thant you are with the 9500.

Can you link me to this other system and scores?

I just sent an email to someone who posted a mark close to mine with the same GPU clock speeds (297/263) and asked him what card he has. Hopefully he will reply so i can truley identify my videocard, because after all, i could be running the wrong drivers if its a 9500 pro. and if its a 9500 pro... Cyberpower will be hearing from me

Stay away from OEM Video Cards...always! Never know what yer gonna get...and usually they are way underclocked.

Keep us posted if you hear back from the other user

When i go to my teachers ill mark his cards with powerstrip... He has 3 Sapphire 9700 pros and one OEM card... But he runs AMD processors in his system, so his 3dMARK scores might not match up.
