Postby rossers » Wed Apr 23, 2003 10:54 am

Have a M7VIG-PRO, Athlon XP2100 running W98 2nd addition. IF I have the power managements setting IN WINDOWS turn the monitor off after 15 min. the system freezes. Power Off and restart are the only option. How do I set the BIOS settings to allow the monitor to power off???

There is no way to shut the monitor off through BIOS.

What are your settings at in Power Management?

Control Panel-------->Power Management------->Under the Power Schemes tab (select Home/Office Desk) then below that you will see Settings for Home/Office Desk power scheme the setting for the monitor should work set at 15 minutes.

The above is how my settings are with 98SE. Hope this helps....
Compaq-fu Master - well one of them anyway....

using these settings"Control Panel-------->Power Management------->Under the Power Schemes tab (select Home/Office Desk) then below that you will see Settings for Home/Office Desk power scheme the setting for the monitor should work set at 15 minutes" The system will freeze at the 15 min mark and require a power off and restart to work. In the bios settings power management I'm using power management options set to user defined, HDD power down: Disabled, Suspend Mode: Disabled, Video off option: Always on, Video off method: set to blank screen. If I leave the control panel settings to monitor off setting to never the system works fine. Changing ONLY the monitor to 15 min, it's a crash and die at the 15 min mark. I'm confused !!
